Solutions for realtors using Microsoft .Net Compact Framework

Business Problem
One of our clients sought a Mobile Solution for realtors.
Product requirements included Integration with Pocket Outlook,
generation of Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) using PDF
reports, triggering criteria based search on the server, syncing
with desktop application, email management, GPS integration,
Generation of Map using Microsoft Map point 9.0 (2002) and
an easy installation.
Solution Strategy
Encodex provided a solution, which was built on Microsoft
.net Compact Framework using C#. The application had centralized
information bank developed as Web Service, which was accessed
by Internet.

Solution Highlights
The solution was developed on Microsoft .net compact framework
with client server architecture. The server was backed with
MS SQL Server 2000 as the backend database. This solution
was designed for Mobile Devices with Windows Mobile 2003 operating
system. Some key highlights of the application are described
below:
- Search: A realtor could
a trigger criteria based search to find properties enrolled
on the server. The result set was downloaded as XML on the
Mobile device. Using these results a realtor could generate
a report to view the details of the selected property. The
result also included maps which were generated on the server
using Microsoft Map point.
- Integration with Pocket Outlook:
The application had an integrated support with Microsoft
Pocket Outlook to create and send emails. A realtor could
send the details of a selected property via email.
- Comparative Market Analysis (CMA)
Report Generation: A realtor can upload a template
customized for his organization and trigger a CMA report
generation on the server by selecting many properties. A
successful CMA generation is acknowledged to the realtor
via email having CMA report as an attachment. The CMA report
was generated as PDF file.
- MAPS download: A realtor
can also select a property from a result set and initiate
a map generation specifying the start address to get the
shortest possible route to the property.
- GPS Integration: The application
provided a GPS support to all devices subscribing to PHAROS
GPS Service. This gave them a freedom of graphically selecting
area for performing search. The result set where displayed
on the map of Pharos console.
